Would you agree with the statement “Health is wealth”? I certainly do. When you have it, you just can’t help but take it fore-granted. But when you think about it, it’s really not a smart idea to assume that you will always be healthy. Working out, making good lifestyle choices are all essential to our wellness, quality of life and longevity. But even making the right choices doesn’t guarantee us health. So the smart thing to do is insure yourself, just in case something unexpected should happen or come up. I have paid for my own medical insurance for almost 16 years now. Each year my premiums go up and my insurance goes down with a new group of waivers that my insurance company always seems to add with each renewal. I always thought that I had decent coverage because my insurance agent always told me so and warned me to hold on to my plan at all cost. What I started to realize about 5 years ago, and what hit home more this year, is that as I get older, my insurance company is asking me to pay more, while giving me less coverage.
Does that mean that when I need my insurance the most I will ultimately end up with less then I need, even after investing in my own medical coverage with the same company for over 15 to 20 years? I’m hoping I won’t ever need my medical insurance and I do what I can to stay healthy and fit, but as I get older and I keep paying my insurance premiums, shouldn’t I feel comfortable knowing that I have made the right choices by investing in a long term relationship with my medical insurance company? Why do I have this awful feeling that even though I have paid my dues, month after month, year after more expensive year that I won’t have the coverage and protection I think I do. That I wont have the coverage I have paid so much and so long for. Think about that, I know I am. In closing, I really hope to see a public option that will allow Americans to be healthier, stronger and ultimately more productive and independent. Wishing you and yours the wealth that is health! xoxo Denise

Health is wealth…
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009Denise’s Holiday Abs
Thursday, December 18th, 2008
With all of the holiday and work related hustle and bustle I can’t always make it to the gym, but that doesn’t mean I’m not still working my body. When I can’t get to the gym there are still lots of ways to work up a good hot sweat. This chin up bar is one of my favorite home workout tools and if you use it like I do, it also makes a great play tool too!
Chin Ups
Tuesday, October 28th, 2008
I have a new chin up bar and I love it. It’s a great piece of equipment to hang in your home and enjoy for so many different uses. Where else can you find a piece of equipment that allows you to work your back, shoulders, arms , abdominal, allows you to stretching your muscles and can also be used as a sex swing? Just think of the possibilities!

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008
I mailed in my vote this morning because I won’t be in Florida on election day and then proceeded to do my cardio to start my day properly. It was a great way for me to start my day, and I highly recommend that all Americans do the same. Besides you never know what you will discover during your walk. Just look at what I found <smile> xoxo Denise
Denise is one of Playboy TV’s “69 Sexy Things 2 do Before You Die”.
Tuesday, July 15th, 2008
Last week was a fast and furious week filled with some very exciting high points that I wanted to share with you. I spent a good portion of my Monday preparing for a shoot I was doing on Tuesday for the Playboy TV show ”69 sexy things 2 do before you die”. On my segment I trained a hot, fun loving couple on the benefits and joys of working out, by designed a sexercise routine specifically designed to help them build up all of their love muscles. As a professional bodybuilder and erotic fitness model and personality, I’ve spent most of my adult life training and talking with people about the benefits of a balanced, fit and active lifestyle, both in the gym and out. So when I got the call from Playboy for a workout, I was all over it. From partner assisted stretches to my signature 69 push ups, my sexcercise routine is all about getting a good workout, connecting with your partner (for the right kind of motivation) and having fun! Stay tuned for more info on when the show is scheduled to air, along with more sexy sexercise tips from your very own erotic fitness trainer. – Denise
Training days
Saturday, July 12th, 2008I’m six weeks away from my next big photo shoot, so training is a top priority. That means two rounds of aerobics and approximately 45 minutes of weight training per day.
Living Lean and Green
Thursday, July 3rd, 2008
Living lean is an essential part of staying healthy. But what about living lean and doing it in a way that also makes you green, so that you can benefit in more ways then one! Daily walks are a great way to burn fat and work your heart and lungs. But by walking to do my errands instead of driving, I also get to save money on fuel and lower the carbon emissions that would other wise be polluting our skies. How I stay Lean and Green: I like to start my day with a 45 minute walk. I do this on an empty stomach because lower blood sugar levels helps my body tap into stored fat for energy faster, thereby burning more fat. While I’m out, I run errands like grocery shopping and going to the post office and by making my errands a part of my walk route, I’m able to get multiple benefits. I burn fat, do my errands, save money and keep the planet healthy too. Now that’s what I call living lean and green.
Vitamin D
Wednesday, June 11th, 2008Dear Diary, When a long time buddy and member decided to share the details of a list of benefits assoicated with Vitamin “D” in an email he sent me, I thought he was being his cute and talking about me. But, after reading his email, I quickly realized that he was talking about Vitamin D, not Vitamin Me <smile>. Anyway, Im all about passing on useful, healthy information so, here it goes. Oh and by the way, don’t forget that a daily dose of me is good for you too. To illustrate that fact, I’ve added my own list of benefits! <smile/wink> ….Denise
Vitamin D (ie, our skin’s response to Sunshine) is a miracle drug:
- lowers risk of many cancers
- lowers depression
- prevents osteoporosis
- combats heart disease
- protects against diabetes (and therefore kidney failure, vision loss, and even foot amputation)
- prevents heart attack and stroke
My list of Vitamin “D” benefits (D being for Denise of course
-
lowers the risk of many cancers – especially prostate cancer, after all studies show that coming once a day keeps the prostate healthy.
-
lowers depression – making you smile is my ultimate goal!
-
prevents osteoporosis – no wasted boners around me, and thats a promise!
-
combating heart disease – by getting your heart rate up at least once a day.
-
protects against diabetes – I like to keep the sugar all natural so that diabetes is never an issue.
-
And, finally, heart attacks are unacceptable but strokes, now thats a different story!
Negative or Positive…
Friday, June 6th, 2008Every now and then I am amazed and saddened by the kind of negativity and anger I observe, sense, or come across in every day life. It always makes me wonder about where people have been and why they act the way they do. And in fact, I dont think a lot of people are actually even aware of what kind of energy they put off. Watching television last night I came across a show on wellness and longevity that got my attention and is something I want to share with you. One of the things mentioned on the show, was the power of positive thinking and how studies show that pessimists don’t live as long as optimists do. Not to get overly philosophical here, but, lets say that being optimistic or positive doesn’t necessarily increase the number of years in your life. Wouldn’t it still be fair to say that being positive and optimistic probably does improve the life in your years? The best part of the message for me was the fact that people do have the power to change. Negative or Positive, we all get to choose what we put out, which also means we get to affect what we get back. Here’s to exercising all of your personal power, both physical and mental! Have a great weekend. Denise
