…those are the words that belong to the winner of a competition designed to find the best 6 words in a phrase that would best sum up today’s inauguration of our new president Barack Obama. Like so many people, I’ve spent quite a bit of time this weekend and today watching the events surrounding the presidential inauguration. It was a pleasure to listen to Barack talk about the reality of the hardships we face as a nation in a manner that would call upon our collective courage and unity, so that we could face our problems as a real community. Welcome Mr. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

The American Dream lives on…
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008Congratulations to us all. I believe tonight’s election is a win for every American no matter who you voted for. The number of people who registered and went to the polls to vote this election year is a promising indication that people understand that they have the power to make things change. Congratulations Barack and Joe, what a fantastic White House Combination!

W. is for Why?
Monday, October 20th, 2008![]()
I got to see a screening of the new Oliver Stone Move W. this weekend and walked out of the movie wondering why the movie was made, and what Oliver Stone’s point behind it was. The best part of the movie was Josh Brolin’s’ performance. He did a really nice job playing the role of W. aka “Jr.”, but that didn’t change the fact that I honestly had a hard time sitting through the movie. By the end of the film I found myself annoyed by the two hour reminder that (according to Stone) ”Jr” was/is basically a stubborn, ex-party animal who is/was resentful of his dad for wanting him to grow up. That coupled with the reality that this silverspoon fed, late bloomer was voted into the White House twice, so that he could run this country by the seat of his pants was not my idea of time well spent. I highly recommend you watch one of my videos instead <smile> xoxo Denise
